Thanks Mauro,
these comments really strengthen my idea that there is no reason why SES Paris should fail to obtain a reasonable audience. I was wondering, for the SES latino and Milan, are the sessions in espagnol and italian or english?

Julien, also in Milan we had a huge response in April; it was the first SES in Italy with 300 attendees. Yes, promotion it's an issue, but also the enviroment around the chairman it's another point. I was lucky to receive a lot of help from quite all the SEM Italian players to promote and to partecipate to the event. Looking at the survey results, 86% of the attendees think to partecipate to 2007 edition too.

WoW Nacho, I really hope the one in charge of SES Paris will read this post and take notes from your tips... I believe SES Latino and SES Paris are on the same boat and the fact that you made it work encourages me to hope the same for the one in Paris...

Salut Julien!

It's very unfortunate of the result of SES Paris to be the way you have percieved.

I had the task to organize the first SES Latino 2006 in Miami, FL in July this year. Although, I share with you on the challanges of marketing the event, we were very lucky to have so many industry leaders spread the word and get many to come try it out. At the end, we ended up with about 500 people (includes everyone) when I forcasted about 300. Again, when there is demand for education, get toghether and the sponsors amplify their voice supporting the event... you get miracles. Everyone was so pleased with the outcome. I've included a roundup of articles from everywhere I could dig up here:

http://www.ihispanic.com/ses-latino-2006.html

Next year should be even bigger and only hope for the best (www.seslatino.com). I believe the biggest challange will be reaching those additional industry organizations as you suggest. That should guarantee more attendees and a faster growth of our industry in Latin America.

It can be done Julien, it can. Get the backing from the "trend spreaders" of your country, and you will see the difference. I wish you great success for next year.

Saludos,

Nacho

Very nice list covering most of the important things to note when writing blog posts.

As an aside, I've written a plugin that incorporates the Digg This Reloaded plugin with the Share This plugin to provide the sheer number of social bookmarking sites achieved by social with the cool Digg button. Fittingly, it's entitled <a href="http://dev.lipidity.com/dev/web/share-this-reloaded-digg-with-a-difference" rel="nofollow">Share This Reloaded.</a>
